Active Ingredient: Ammonium Chloride 5.4 mg/ml
 
Ammonium chloride is a diuretic (excessive urine production).  When administering Basix before extreme exercise, diuresis results in a reduction in blood volume which may help reduce the incidence of exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage also known as EIPH.
 
Compare this product to the product Diurex.
 
Dosage and Administration: Administer on the advice of a veterinarian. The usual dosage for adult horses is 50ml four to five hours before hard work.
